A Brief History of

Our Company

Mountain Country Property Management Ltd. (est. 2001) is an unrestricted property management agency, licensed by the Real Estate Council of British Columbia, and services Whistler, Pemberton and Squamish British Columbia.

We are bonded in accordance to the Real Estate Act and are professionally designated by the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia. Our Team consists of qualified and licensed property managers, in-house accounting staff and fully equipped maintenance personnel. Our commercial office is conveniently located in Function Junction, Whistler.

Regulations

Landlord’s and their Tenants in British Columbia have duties which are regulated by the Residential Tenancy Act of BC.

​

  • Insurance: Property owners should notify their insurer the property is being rented on a long term basis.

  • Licensing: In British Columbia, managers of long term rentals must be licensed in accordance to the Real Estate Act of BC.

  • Non-Residents of Canada: Mountain Country can act on behalf of non-resident property owners as their non-resident agent for tax purposes.

Mountain Country focuses solely on its core business of Long Term Rental Management in Whistler, Pemberton and Squamish, BC. Property types managed are:

  • Market Rentals (Annual / Seasonal): Market rentals typically rent for 12 month terms. Seasonal properties rent through the winter or summer for 6 month terms. A full range of properties are managed including condominiums, townhouses, single family homes and executive homes.

  • Whistler Housing Authority (Employee Restricted Housing): The Whistler Housing Authority provides affordable living for employees of Whistler. This includes 11 locations of multi-unit rentals. Mountain Country oversees the operations, finances and administration of these properties. www.whistlerhousing.ca

  • Privately Owned Apartment Buildings: Full service managers for privately owned residential and mixed use apartment complexes.

  • Other properties: Including staff housing for Whistler businesses.

Tenant Information

To apply for a tenancy, the best place to start is to complete an online tenancy application.

Current listings are kept up to date on our website. Applications are kept on file if there is not a current suitable match.

​

All properties rented are non-smoking, meaning smoking is not permitted inside or on the common property of the premise. Most rental properties do not permit pets. However individual property owners may from time to time agree to permit pets. All of our properties are individually owned. Mountain Country acts as agents to the property owner. Fixed Term leases outlining the terms of the lease are completed. The lease agreement is regulated by the Residential Tenancy Act of BC.
